vB4 Beta 3 is OUT!

vBulletin Beta 3 Released to Customers with 4.0 Licenses

 

I'm wondering why I cannot download it though all my licenses are active. I guess I'll have to wait until it goes Gold.

 

Did you purchase vb4 classic or the vb4 suite?

Wayne has vbcodex upgraded to beta 3 already.

 

Yep.

It appears he started upgrading days ago and the beta slipped.

 

Installing now...

The file count has more than doubled it looks lile.

Installing the 3.8.x was like 8xx files this is 17xx files.

Then again the 3.8.x I install seemingly 3x a day for testing our products is just the forums.

I'm going to just state up front that I just may not know how to read, but from my announcement email on Oct 13th of the presale, vb4 licensing, etc. the following:

My interpretation is that I don't have to pay a cent (active license to 6/2010) and will get access to vb4 Gold in that timeframe? This is for forums only, Classic.

I realize you do not have to respond here. I'm not anxious to get the beta 3, I am glad to see its progress and appreciate the notice.

I think you will be able to download the Gold, however the announcement regarding the beta states:

So, I think if you had upgraded to the forum or purchased the actual vb4 forums, then you would be able to download the beta. I would suggest putting in a support ticket, or posting on vb.com, to get this clarified.

 

I got mine installed and working! Now the work begins.


Did you download the suite Bama?

Are you in Alabama? If so it must be getting late there.

Thanks. That quote you did from the announcement is what prompted my inquiry. Makes sense it would be for Gold for me.

I understand that I need official response via support ticket, but I still thank you for going out of your way.

Can someone confirm I'm not just unspecial or anything and that it's just the beta for the forum?

 

Not quite sure what you are asking...still on first pot of coffee...but I'm gonna hazard a guess.

What I d/l'ed and installed last night was the full suite; forum, cms, blog.

 

Thanks. I went back after I saw your post. What I did was clicked and downloaded the Download vBulletin Forum 4.x button. Which it, of course, just gave me the forum download. I went back and clicked on the Suite link, and it took me to 3.8.x to download. I just now realized that I could select vBulletin 4.0 to get the Suite.

Dummy me.

 

This just reaffirms what I thought...

vBulletin license for sale in 5 months.
