I think it helps fill your pages with keywords, so if a thread is tagged with UK opera 13th September and the thread title is the same or very similar then the keyword density for those terms on that page will of course rise. It may help them index that page better for the most relevant terms because of the density.

Do you have Automatic Thread Tagging?
Or just the tag system? ATT, is useful.

I agree that ATT is useful, but it can add unneeded tags.

I'm pretty sure you can define stop words that shouldn't be automatically added.

I don't find the tagging system to be a huge SEO component, but I have seen it used beneficially by the search engines. So if you are going to enable it, you should definitely employ some sort of automatic tagging system.

Now is it me or does using tags makes it easier to preform a search? I mean it seems easier for me to locate threads that I have used tags vs threads without tags.

Depending on the relevancy/weight that tags add to the search, yes, they can be very helpful. :)

    ^ most definitely!

Bumping this thread b/c I ran into a problem that I just found out about.

    1. have had ATT in use for months. No problems what so ever. Went to modify some tags on a thread after it was created. The ATT created as expected. I went to delete one, and add a new one. Resulted in:

    Invalid Action Specified

My changes did not take effect.

    2. Disabled ATT plugin completely. Just went to modify/add tags as mentioned on same thread. Same problem:

    Invalid Action Specified

    3. Even though ATT was disabled, the vBulletion Options Menu still listed it there and I manually disabled from that menu also. Repeated No. 2 and still no change in result:

    Invaled Action Specified

Anyone have a clue what this is or where I should go to resolve?

    Thanks in advance!

Edit: Resolved. See it here if you like. Note, Nick was on that thread that I found, but not sure its the same one.
