I'm new to SEO. What is the "best" URL rewrite out of the 6 preset vBSEO settings? I'm not sure if there is one that stands out as the best. However, I do understand that once the rewrite is set, it is suggested to stay the same for the life of one's Forum.

Any suggestions would be great. :D

There isn't one that is better than the others in terms of SEO and URL-rewritting isn't even a major factor any more in rankings. You're best bet is to find the one you like, and simply set it as that and leave it.

Personally I prefer the ones used here at AA which don't give a .html ending to things.

I agree, I like the ones AA use.

Any one of the presets are good choices -- that's why they are presets. :D
It's a matter of your personal preference of the choices.

Here we are using custom rewrite settings, but unless you really know what you are doing, it isn't recommended to do that. In any case, I (as you can see) prefer directory-structure URLs with no extension.
Some people argue that having an extension or not having an extension in your URL can have an impact on your SEO ranking. I've heard varying arguments from multiple reputable sources, so I just chose the one I prefer. :)
