If you have a unique concept, then be sure to never let go. I know I'm involved in the "pets" business because I care about virtual pets.

    What's your unique idea?

    Nutella forum!

Me and another member here [Michelle] have really been interested in the idea, so we'll be acting upon it!

I would say a forum about nutella, different ways to eat it etc.

I did have a unique forum idea about the toys you get with happy meals and kids meals through McDonalds but never acted on it - it was going to be where people could talk about sets, trade/sell/buy certain toys that complete their sets etc but thought it would be too hard to get out in the open.

Not unless you contacted MDs about it?

We haven't decided yet, we'll work on it once we both get some other commitments out of the way. But I've been reading about the Nutella phenomenon and adding some Nutella people to my Ice_Cream_Forum Twitter account in preparation.

(FMB, I can read some Italian and German, two countries where Nutella has been big for years; I knew it would come in handy someday)

This would come in handy, very. Europe has more knowledge of Nutella than the west side of the world.

I know some Italian but no German. lol I also did a quick search and it seems it's quite popular South America.

After 7,000 years of civilization, there are no more unique ideas. There is only unique implementation. It doesn't matter what your idea is, if you put it into Google you will get search results. Probably a Wikipedia page but I digress.

It is how you implemented an idea and turn it into website that matters. So you need to look at your Idea and how others have presented it and similar ideas in the past. You then need to build on that and add your own touch to it.

As an example, look at the new movie District 9. It isn't much different in its premise than the old classic "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (the 1951 version, not the remake) or "War of the Worlds" (radio version). However it is presented in a new and unique way.

OMG! I thought District 9 was a documentary I am still growing flowers and raising birds for when the Aliens from War of the Worlds attack! lol

I had contacted MD;s and Burger King about my site and received some positive replies but do not have the time at the moment to implement anything!

Lately my goal has been to think up and implement web sites (whether it be forums, directories, stores, etc.) about things that make people happy. Ice cream, cupcakes, Nutella... people already have an emotional attachment to these things. I think Merk_Aus's proposed site about McD's toys could be a big hit for the same reason; if he hits the right emotional notes and gets people thinking of how happy the toys made them, they're already sold on the site.

I recently bought a domain (evilgeniussupplyco.com) and am thinking up stuff to add that will make people laugh.

Brendon, it's funny because I was just thinking about the same thing.

A forum/website based on Fast Food Restaurants. Wendy's, Burger King, McDonald's, etc.

I have an idea, find a community that is just like yours and ask if the two forums (yours and theirs) can do some sort of competition together, I think it would give both forums a good reputation and it would be interesting :D

I have placed my McD's toy idea on the back burner just so I have time to revamp my own website etc but have already spoken with places like McD's, Burger King, and others about their toys and stuff like that some have been really helpful some have brushed me off but when the time comes in the next couple of months i think it could do good.

I'd agree with Wayne on this one. Really, unique ideas are dead. Unique implementations? Maybe, but unique ideas, I don't think so much.
