    Thanks.

I do almost all of them other than make a blog, blog commenting I do though. There is one in there I think is a big no no for certain, entrances.

By "use a directory", do you mean adding one to your site?

Eeeerm, I think I meant submitting to, but I suppose it does look more like using one on your website so we'll go with that. :)

Yeah, submitting to directories would probably fall under Link Building, though I'm not sure adding a directory to your existing site actually does anything for optimization.

I use just about everything on the list, except for directories and link rings.

Does anyone use link rings any more? I thought they "went out of fashion", so to speak.

I exchange links with my own websites, but with most of them I'll get a unique IP. And not JUST a unique IP. I get my host to hold IP's when he gets his blocks allocated to ensure all my own not only have a different block D of the IP (so aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd) but the block C is different too.

Not 100% sure this is still working, but I've done it for some time and links get counted quickly I find with Google and Yahoo.

I build a site, link to it from 20-odd websites of my own that use different block C's and they never get 'sandboxed' (if you believe that, filtered out if you don't) for gaining too many to soon. And they rank well within a week or so.

Then gaining REAL back-links helps a lot, but we have lots of members, so that's not that hard to do usually.
