Looks like Vbulletin have lost another well known forum from their customer base
    TAZ are now using Xenforo

To be honest, I'm not really a fan of the new design. They'd be better off changing the current AdminExta.com style. A new logo is also needed as the current one is dated.

Yet another site joins the exodus away from VB. A natural result when an organization ignores their customers like VB does.

I liked the AdEx style. I am not fond of the new style. Reminds me of this theme.

I wish them luck. They had to move to new software as vbulletin has no future. I am surprised that Howard didn't wait to see what IPB 4 offered. Maybe he liked what he saw in xenforo when he took over AdEx.

Well, as an avid user of TAZ, I like the design some (it could be worse) and love the overall change.:)

That's the rule with forum software conversions. They do great... for a few days or so as people debate the new software and feel the site has gotten more fresh. Then they die out when it becomes the same old same old.

I think they are trying to hard to look the same as the old vb3 style instead of going for a completely fresh start, I will miss the more friendly atmosphere of AdEx.

Yep, same thing will happen as usual. There seems to be a few new faces posting on TAZ since they now use XF, those that support it and avoid posting on any sites not using XF. But overall... don't think things have picked up a great deal since the move to XF, but then never expected it would much. XenForo isn't the novelty it was.

And don't you dare say anything critical about it, the whole forum has turned into nothing but a hate site for VB, every VB thread turns into a VB v Xenforo slagging match

I know this is going to sound bad after the above comment but

From what I have read, if you convert xf to vb, you cant import users passwords, the other way round it works

The whole vb vrs xf arguments got beyond tiresome, that's why I left the support forums for so long
Looking at the TAZ forums, the xf boys are now picking on IP Boards, with their planed internet domination

Yes, noticed as much myself. Now that vB isn't any threat to XenForo, their attention seems to have moved towards picking on IPB because they know IPB 4 is coming and might pose a threat to XF.

Pretty amusing really. Because when you see people start to talk about a new forum software in a good light. It's usually not long before the XF cheerleaders start to surface singing Ra, Ra, Ra - posting little digs about it in reply. All very amusing to watch happening...

I think that ips and bb are the only solutions with a working calendar. vbulletins calendar is so basic that it's hardly used on active sites.

That was my attempt at humour. One guy on TAZ keeps banging on about the calendar feature in vbulletin as though its the be all and end all of features in vbulletin. And its not presently included in vb5
Something that's not even in XenForo
Which pretty much sums up how important the feature is

I have never been able to figure out why you would want a calendar on a forum, is there some way the info on it is flagged up as announcement on the date ?

I think, in the past, some sites used the calendar for events they were holding and such. IIRC, members birthdays were displayed there, too. I definitely don't see it as a necessity.

I've just been back there to see if things have been sorted, it's a lot quieter now, but I seem to have gained an awful lot of likes, and by a lot I mean well over a thousand :evillaugh:

And the trophy system has gone ballistic !

    you mean https://community.centminmod.com/calendar/ ? :)

I like TAZ's XF theme one of the best I've seen (personal preference of course) :)
