Well I found my first case of stolen content...well title. I posted a link with a unique title on my web site and then linked it on twitter. This took place yesterday. Then today I ran across a tweet where a guy was posting the same story. I figured it was a retweet without the RT.

When I clicked on the link it took me to a post on Digg. The guy used my exact title and the link to where the video originates. But left out my site where the title was originally created. I turned around and sent the guy a reply on twitter but it was removed some how. I sent a follow up expaining that was my title but never got a reply.

So I posted a comment on Digg stating it was my original title and I didn't mind people using my title(s) or matieral as long as I'm given credit...then I clicked the buried button on his post.

Original thread: posted 1 day ago.

Then about 30 minutes ago a guy on twitter posted this on Digg...the Digg account name is the same as teh guy posting on twitter.

Interesting, it seems this person is a member of AdimAddicts.or at least a fan of the site. He posted a link to Nick's Grand Opening on Digg.

Not good... I hate stealer's who don't give credit where credit is due.

People like that don't deserve to use the net!

I'm not going to lie, I use other people's content but I post source links, names, use quote brackets, and have even emailed people for permission.

    That's great.

I try to keep content original. I do outsource for sources etcetera, though I try my hardest to give credit and keep information original.

    I must be missing something.

If I put up a video on a hosting site like youtube and I posted a link to it on my forum, I would expect someone to post a link to that video on a different forum at some point. Usually without crediting my site.

    Is that what happened?

My complaint is about the title...not the video. It's my original work and not yours. If you're going to use the video link from another site, fine, but create your own title.

Oh Ray, I'm sorry. That was actually me. I figured it would be ok, I could try retracting the article if you'd like.

Okay, I just dispatched an email to Digg to get rid of the article under my account. As soon as it's done, I'll redo it and put your site link in.

Well, apparently I can't delete the article yet they give the option to - idiots. Anyway, I requested a change in the article description with a link to your forum as well as a link to your Twitter. I'm really sorry this happened, I thought the title you used was the same one on the video.

Thanks Boss but I really blew this way out in left field. Anyhow, I tried deleting my comment on Digg but can't seem to do it. This is my second time to do anything on Digg. I usually just use it to vote/digging articles.

As for the tweets, my system was lagging hard...I think everyone was jumping on their computers after work. So I'm guessing there was a slight delay in receiving tweets?

Anyhow, sorry about making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Oh no, it's okay. When I clicked on this topic I had this weird hunch I knew what it was but really didn't make much of it. You can contact dig to retract or edit your comment using their contact link at their footer, just make sure to be logged in and include a link to the article on Digg. Depending on how their work schedule is, they should edit the description within 12 hours I'd say. It's okay, I barely use Digg. This is probably my 6th time visiting the site since I registered.
