Server Downtime

Before I get any more e-mails about terrorist attacks, I thought I would explain to everyone about our downtime today.

It was caused by some configuration conflicts related to serverside compression of files among other stuff.

We're now back up with zero data lost, and hopefully it will stay that way. I may have to shut down a short time or two later to test a few things but we'll keep this running for now to make sure I at least have the problem isolated.

Sorry for the downtime yesterday folks.

We've just upgraded to the latest PHP version, the latest MySQL version, and the latest SendMail version to take care of some security enhancements and performance issues.

Let us know if you witness any problems.

Sorry for the various downtimes yesterday, our server admin ahem was unable to get to the server to reboot it after the last in a series of crashes. Hopefully it will stay up now...

Due to alot of unfortunate problems, we suddenly went offline several days ago. We had alot of intermittent "technical issues" that I'd rather not get into at this time.

We've had alot of those, but I assure you of one thing: If it were anything that was ever within *my* power to fix, I am always around here to take care of it as quickly as possible. Guess it's unfortunate that far too many things are outside my grasp! So don't yell at me *much*. Guess it goes with the territory though huh? In short, Alien Soup is not going *anywhere*.

Anyways, we decided upon a new course. We are now on a new server at a new location, and we hope not to experience downtime again for a bit.

New Site Update: Coming along, the design is 100% and is now being chopped up and coded etc. We hope to have this site ready any day now so keep an eye out! Remember, this design is only 1 of 3 Alien Soup skins that will be available in the near future, for those who like alternate color schemes, graphics, or for those with dial-up: a low-bandwidth/fast-loading site for you too!
