In the http and cookie setting of vbulletin there is a "Remove Redirection Message Pages" setting. The options are yes or no.

Which one helps reduce server load? And does it "really" make a difference?

I think it only saves you bandwidth if you turn it off

Something has to process the data that makes up the bandwidth. So if you reduce bandwdith, you should be reducing server load.

It should provide a minimal resource drop. Most of the resource usage is still going to be processing and submitting the information to the database. You'll lose a few page loads and some GZIP processes. Actual bandwidth savings will be negligible as the GZIP redirect page is only about 2K per load. It will add up over time but it will also be counteracted by users producing content quicker or loading more full pages on your site during their visit as the move through the existing content.

Thank you Wayne. I'am not really worried about bandwidth, my server does not get anywhere close to its limit. But if I can reduce the server load, even by just a little bit, that is what I'am looking for.
