Recently teenforumz done an exchange with a site called Dubit, basically we emailed all our members telling them about their services in exchange for them emailing all of their members about teenforumz.

We noticed something suspicious after they supposedly sent our email out for us. Someone signed up prior to all of this named samDubit, obviously he was from their business.

After all the emails were meant to have been sent out we noticed he had created a new account called Mendez and was posting claiming he was from Dubit, Im glad to be here etc.

To me it seems like they havent even sent an email out and are faking it.

What would you do in this situation?

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum.

Maybe join their forum undercover and post complaining about the spam email you received? If other members chime in saying they never received one and you must be mistaken, you know you caught the owner in a lie.

Thats the problem they dont have a public forum. They just have members of their blog/information resource.

Sounds like it would be very hard to check if the message went out unless you had an account with them before the deal. I guess in the future you'll have to make sure you get on the mailing list first.

This is a very typical tactic, actually.

I can now happily confirm we have received some solid proof of the emails going out and also a valid reason for their secondary account.
