Private Forum for Regulars?

Would you consider a private forum for regulars to post in and only regulars? We use one to discuss suppliers or customers and so on, and it ensures the traders are not done for slander, and it makes sure they can talk about problem customers and so on without them ever finding the thread.

Perhaps on here it could be used to post things about our forums with us knowing our competitiors won't be monitoring our problems or concerns or issues with our forums etc.

We call it a 'Pub' (a bar? in US speak?) and only those who are comitted to the forum get access. We have special discounts for those with access from the sponsors, and we generally try to keep all the nitty gritty business talk in there also.

Just a thought.

 

I don't have one... however I am trying to find a way to relax the word filter so on my site I can have one for regulars or VIP Members that allows more freedom and less moderation.

I like your idea though would be good for your continued clients/suppliers.

I'd have guessed if there was one it'd be linked to (to encourage people to want to be regular) but private (to protect the content in there) as this is THE Admin forum afterall. Though I could be wrong.

Either way, I hope I get in there one day.

I think having a private forum for regulars can be a good idea to encourage some of the regulars to share a bit more about themselves. Some (many?) people don't like to post info about themselves when they look down a the users in the thread and see these people they've never heard of reading their posts. It's kinda weird to see lurkers showing up all the time reading your stuff but never saying anything themselves. If you have a private forums with only 'known' users in it, the users tend to be a little more relaxed and say a bit more about themselves.

Yeah we used to have one but it is in hiding for now.

I'm trying to post a lot; but I do have a funny feeling you're all fibbing me and want us lot to just post lots thinking we'll see this magical golden entrance sometime. (hehe).

 

I'd rather no one putting their hands, if bloody, on me!

But it seems if there's a special place for posters with a high post count, maybe you'll see me there in a few months. Heh heh.
