In case anyone cares. I just noticed on the main page (vb.com).

Upgrade to suite from v3 is $160 until the presale ends, regular price $250. But of course who knows what the the pricing will be after Monday.

Purchasing of new suite is now $235, regular price is $285.

I did not start this thread to be a rant, at all. Just thought others may not have noticed the sale ending.

I can't really understand their logic behind that. I would imagine they'll want to try and capture some Christmas sales with the very little time they have left. And increasing the price just 4 days before it, well 2-3 sale days before it just doesn't make much sense to me. Also keep in mind, that XMAS SALES start to happen now in the final run-up to it, and they've chosen to start charging full price? Hum!!!

I would have thought it would have been better to just leave things as they are until after the New Year, instead of risking rocking the boat by going to full price now. Especially, when if anything they should be offering a SALE on it right now, through past Boxing Day to the New Year. Which is a well known Sales period here in the UK, when most people will only pay less than full price for anything (bargain hunters).

But then their American, so maybe they don't understand the UK logic over here so close to Christmas now. When most people have done their XMAS shopping and are now just on the look-out for late bargains instead, right through to the New Year.

uhh you think the UK has the corner on bargain hunting? lol

Trust me, most people on this side of the pond are just as desperate for bargains - unless of course, you're corporate Americans, like IB suits. ;)

Or the Gold version is going to be released so the PRE-SALE is over since it's no longer going to be "PRE-Release".

You can still offer a sale on it, wether it be RC5 or Gold version. It makes no difference either way really does it? There not being forced to end the sale, that's their own choice to end it.

They could still choose to extend it into the New Year, the same way they choose to extend it past November, or was it October previously.

    Same thing

But then it would not be a PRE sale.

Well to skip all the jargon we all know this thread will end in disaster like the rest. All I want to know now that the pre-sales ended do we get a log cabin thrown into the bargain?

I'll hold my hands up. I like em too. Heck, if vb are serious about including a log cabin into the 4.0 licensing agreement I'm all in. When I say all in I'll happily endorse the cms, blog and forum script.

Onto a serious more on topic related matter. I'll need to look at the4 license agreement whether the log cabin expires after the 4.x.x development period. I'll need to get back to you on that peggy and will let you know as soon as I know. Fingers crossed.

Anyway. Hopefully this was more of my helpful vb related responses.

Actually, I think we should now all be offered a new discounted price on version 4.0.

After all, we now have that much less time to use it, as it's only good until version 5 comes out.

Therefore, I think each day the price should go down slightly to compensate for the diminishing value of the license they are selling. ;)
