Does anybody know who is porting styles to vBulletin 4.x for a reasonable rate? I'm curious to see who is doing it and for how much... just to get an idea.

I was told that vB 4 styling was not set yet, so I doubt if someone have like an absolute rate since it could be changing before the gold release.

True. The stylevar is still being worked on. I doubt very much that anyone is porting any styles yet.

I thought I saw a thread/post here long time ago that Minerz was doing them for like $500!?! I have no idea if that is reasonable if you recall my posts regarding this issue. HA!

Unfortunately, if you want it done right away - that is very reasonable.

The styling system in 4.0 is a horrid mess right now. It is nearly impossible to customize a skin beyond minor changes or color changes and I, for one, won't even attempt porting any of mine until IB get's their act together.

John, would you end up shifting business to IP.Board if IB take too long fixing their mistakes?

Boss, I think he'll poop bricks when he reads that question. Just the thought sounds crazy.

And I thought Miner was actually creating skins, not transporting them.

Miner is porting some of his free skins over to vb4 and to IPB3.

And Boss' question isn't crazy at all. Transverse Styles does have an IPB division remember. ;)

About Miner, I had a convo the other morning with someone and I said "Oh boy is Miner screwed up the ass..."

Remember those 10 positions he had for $500 fully custom skins, whatever you wanted? Yeah, the poor guy is going to be tearing his hair out for doing that.

Unfortunately he really is. IMO, he should have waited til at least the last RC to make that offer.

I feel sorry for him or anyone who did a similar offer. So far the only vB 4 sites I've seen only use a different color gradient instead of the blue/lilac color one. And some different icon images throughout the site, that's about it.

    Isn't it always, lol?

Anyways, I'm slightly curious to see what people can manage and develop with the crap they've been given so far. :)

I wouln't imagine there's going to be anything inovative for a good while. Styles such as what nick is requesting will be simple to do but I'm guessing the styles you see at the main vb styling providers will be a tad more difficult.

Like with anything, it's slow at first but once you learn you will see more visual appealing designs, template changing but not with the current crap (as you said) that they have given.

Some people may indeed call it a christmas present I call it yet another slap in the customers face.

Is the styling engine even working yet?

No idea. I had my 2nd stint with vB earlier this year but sold my license as soon as the resale day limit was up. I knew something bad was going to happen, and luckily I sold it for almost what I bought it for.

I have had so much crap going on in RL the last few months I've done well just to answer support issues on my site. I do have plans to actively develop both platforms beginning sometime after the holidays.

Yes, like a well oiled machine :uhh:

lol, I was waiting for the RC release to finish mine. Somehow it actually starting to look like IPB.

One of those voices in my head maybe telling me something.

    Looks Nice.

Since I saw the most recent screen shots of the new VB I've thought it looks like IPB.
