Personally im not overly keen on the blue, I was expecting something a little lighter maybe when I first arrived. I would make a logo with something related to plastering maybe one of those things you use, not sure what theyre called now lol but one of those would look good with a different font face.

With forums like this it is probably more the content than the look but I dont fully get the point of the forums and I am sure when it becomes more active others will be easily able to access all of your information.

Lol I totally apologise I just dont have any suggestions for it as I dont know anything about plastering. I do know however that plastering nacks your back so maybe a discussion forum to do with the hard work put into it, more or less like a plasterers rant place or something similar. Might not be the best of suggestions lol

 

I don’t know much about plastering but the forum doesn’t really tell me much. Usually when you enter a forum and see the logo, it’s supposed to tell you what it is about, whether it’s from an image or the overall forum look.

Design wise- Your forum could look a little bit better, since it’s plastering, some light colors or maybe not even light, brick red or/and some “umph” on the image would do good, getting rid of those default vB icons and replacing them with more interesting ones. Please refer to the screenshot below when you read this: I went to see one of the threads and I saw that the header was out of place…very out of place, and I was in semi-fullscreen. Plus the header image where it has the title of the site has a kind of ugly blur on the letters uk.


Content wise-I think the forum is doing alright. Seems that the forum is new and not a lot of members are there, but the information there, I suppose is helpful for those in the industry of plastering. Just advertise a little more in those places where people want to try and do it themselves or people learning. Advertise locally since you can find plasterers there.

I like the blue of the table headers, but in the page header behind the logo it does look a little bright. And I personally don't like the way the logo is set in a rectangle, it looks like an afterthought.
