Here's a simple question for you all...

Why do people copy others? May it be a idea, content, name, ect. ect. off of your forum to make it their own on their forum?

Have you been a victim of this?

What happen and how did you feel about it?

Since I've started on Tropical Promotions, I've noticed two forums that ripped TP off, TP hasn't been around for a long time and already it's being ripped off by others... I don't know how to feel about this but it sort of makes me a little angry that once simply copy & pastes off of TP to their own forums and claim the credit for themselves with out shame or anything... I've been working hard to make TP unique as possible, with fresh and new ideas and unique services to offer the world to only have my ideas stolen, my content stolen by others!

    First case; Your Traffic Talks

Right after I advertised TP there, the owner/admin ACE joined TP, soon after he has a brand new service on his own forum called 'Index Description Ad' service [here]. So, ACE decided to directly copy 'TP's Index Description Spotlight Ads Service', even had the nerve to copy & paste the forum description and guidelines/information for the service too! He admitted to ripping TP off, he said that he could do what ever he wanted (yeah, a real gentleman eh?).

    Second case; Free Advertise

Here is a brand new advertising forum that I came across that ripped off TP's 'Bright Services' section idea as well as TP's 'Index Redirect Ads Service'. The forum owner/admin named gapilongo should feel real proud of himself for this. Take a look [here]. Not only he ripped off TP with the idea and the service, but he copied & pasted EVERYTHING and I mean everything that has to do with the 'Bright Service' section idea and the TP's 'Index Redirect Ads Service'... The descriptions, the services subforums and their descriptions, the guidelines/information page, shoot, even their Sticky Ads Service's description came from TP. I wonder what he'll do next? Is he going to copy all of the TP services to make his forum better? Actually, come to think of it, some of his forums and forum's descriptions look just like Forum Advertiser... I guess this person collects ideas and content from more than one forum...

What are wrong with people these days? Having to rip off others? Why, what's the point, why can't people come up with ideas and things for them selves, on their own? Why do people have to go the route of shamefully ripping others off and instead, do your own thing and come up with stuff on your own? Do people feel good and shameless when they do it or do they feel better? Will there be others in the future that will result in ripping TP off too? I guess we'll have to see and find out...

You tell me because I really don't get it...

Search for a thread titled 'Dear copy cat' here on AA and im sure that exact thread will describe to you know i felt when this happened to me.
Why they do it? Coz they like your ideas and want it for their forum but can't be creative and think of things themselves. Id say feel flattered, coz in a way its a compliment, but i know how un flattering it feels when you spend so much time working on things, only to have it copied.
