OT: iPod Touch vs. iPhone

Hey Guys,

This group here seems to be tech savvy so I figured I'd ask. I've been wanting an iPod touch for quite a while. I'm wondering if I understand the iPod touch correctly. It's an iPhone without the phone. Basically it can run any iPhone app right?

Essentially, unless the App requires you to make calls and take pictures.

Every App I tried on my Dad's worked just fine, so you should be alright.

 

yes, everything that works on the iphone will work on the touch minus the calls
doesn't the touch have a camera?

ps.. u should really just get an iphone, than you don't have to depend on wifi to get online

My fiancee has one and loves it. It's without the phone features yes, but it works exactly the same otherwise. Honestly, with a little hacking work you can turn the Touch into its own phone.

 

Nah, the iPod touch doesn't have a camera (which is its only downfall).

 

I'm going to get an iPod Touch for my Bday, After playing on my mates for about an 1hour I just want one so bad.

 

Also, no mic (without a mic plugged in) (for those mic apps like shazam) and no GPS for those apps. Other then that, almost the same. I have both....

 

Thanks guys, I could swear I asked this before some where but couldn't find the thread. I've got a semi-smart phone with unlimited talk/text/data for $45/mo so I can do without being locked into AT&T for a contract.

Interesting. I didn't realise this, I just looked it up. Some nice rumoured improvements but I guess we'll have to wait and see what it's all about when it gets released.
