Now, I'm not sure if I just scored big-time, or if I just wasted my money.

I bought a new domain. A TWO LETTER domain! Well, two letters before (dot) and two after.

    vb.nu

Unfortunately I had to register it for two years, so It's WAY more than I wanted to spend.

    So...score or loss?

It does roll off the tongue, tho, right? vee bee new :D

This should be in the domains forum shouldnt it?
But if this is for two years, its good, just the way
    i had to get mine.

I put it in the vBulletin forum because of the domain name itself and how it relates to vBulletin. ;)

But if an admin happens to want to put it somewhere else...that's up to them. :D

    lol

I don't know...I have several ideas that may work perfectly for this domain.

The thing I'm afraid of is that there might be a hefty fee for registering a two-letter .nu domain.

I guess I'll have to wait and see...

    Maybe nothing. I don't know.

I was excited to have my own two-letter domain, whatever it is (again, I collect domains).

I generally stay away from any TLD other than .com, but this one seemed like one I had to have. :o

It won't happen right away as I still have some major learnin' to do, but I really would like to develop some skins for vB...eventually.

The other possibility is that I MAY try to sell it (maybe not to vB :p ).

The thing is, it's a generic two-letter domain (Doesn't need to be vB).

I also got two preliminary domain evaluations and on the low-side was $1500 and on the high-side was a whopping $44,000, and that's pretty enticing!

This is the type of domain you really have to do something nu with ;) How about a blog showcasing the best new vB sites?

Why would Jelsoft want it? It has no value in it for the company. The official trademark is vBulletin and if a domain uses the trademark without permission, they can just take it.

Most of the internet associates vb with Visual Basic anyway. At least a lot more people than even know about vBulletin.

Though personally, I'd turn it into a URL shortening service that vBulletin owners can use to tweet new posts through. Not sure that is a commercial venture or one of love but would be interesting.
