Need to know something about hawkhost

I'm planning on starting a 3rd site that will be purely forum based. I heard some good things about hawkhost from various people but I need some technical info. IPB recommends a minimum of 128mb for the forum and I'm quite certain xenForo requires something similar. Does anyone know the memory limit on the shared hosting packages that hawkhost provides? And lastly, for those that use hawkhost, what has your experience been like?

 

Hawkhost is great, we have been using them for 4 months straight and have had no issues at all. Their support is also great. Thats is ALOT more than you need for, so I suggest you go with the Basic plan as that will be perfect for you.

 

Thanks. It's good to see another site that is a tad large doing well on a shared server. I was a little nervous about whether it could handle the strain of IPB and it's multiple resource intensive add-ons (that is if I decide to go with IPB).

 

No problem, and yea I was suprised when I found out forumpromotion is on the same plan as me.

 

One last question. I already have my new site hosted with Hawkhost but I'm not sure if I should expand it to include adult content. I looked at their AUP and it doesn't mention anything about pornographic content. :/

Does Hawkhost support adult content?

 

Im pretty sure they dont. But you can always ask them.

 

I'll check in with them then. I might scrap the idea anyhow. Sometimes a successful community is one that has a narrower focus.

 

Well having adult content dosent really help because then you cant advertise and get members like on sites like this and others that disallow it.

 

They might allow "legal" adult content, but I would strongly suggest that you double check with them first, as it's better to check than be suspended and lose your data, etc.
