MyBB 1.4 end of life

MyBB 1.6 was released almost 8 months ago and since then has proven to be stable and secure. Therefore we will be concluding maintenance and support for the MyBB 1.4 series, and we encourage everyone who has not already done so to upgrade to MyBB 1.6 as soon as possible.

The end of life date for MyBB 1.4 will be the 1st of July, 2011.​

After this date:​

• We will not be offering official support for MyBB 1.4
• There will be no further maintenance or security releases for the 1.4 series
• The 1.4 support forums will be closed and archived

Omgg, I love 1.4 best designed and coded forum software.

 

Yea, 1.6 is basically the same just with few changes. MyBB 1.6 wasnt anything big at all.

 

I wont use 1.6 until its fully stable tbh

 

Well its pretty stable, no major problems.

 

Merh, I just want to know if the skins will be the same e.g. no other coding i have to learn to code mybb forums

 

Upgrade from 1.4 to 1.6 is near seamless. I was able to fix my (heavily customized) theme in a matter of a few minutes - if you haven't made any changes to a template it's updated automatically; if you have, you just have to go to Find Updated Templates in the ACP and fix them manually there.

 

Oh, thanks for clearing up the confusion for Mr Joker, I too never had problems with 1.6 when I used it. MyBB is always stable.
