How many of you monitor your sites (forums, blogs, etc...) while mobile?

I have my Blackberry. Its only a 8130 (Pearl) but it allows me to get email, Facebook, Twitter and Pandora on it. I also have Opera Mini installed to visit forums. Just the screen is kind of small but I can do it if I need to.

Thinking of getting either an iphone, HTC touch or a netbook/laptop for better connectivity. What do you use?

I used to have an iPhone, I don't anymore, but I did - for about a month. Durning this time I would rigorously visit various websites that I would normally spend a lot of time on on my MacBook. It was great, at least on an iPhone (best device, ever).

Other than my temporary time of having a chance to own an iPhone, I never use my regular Samsung phone to go on the web. If I still had an iPhone, though, I'd do it all the time.

I don't check my sites that often while away from the computer. For one, I don't have a hand-held device capable of browsing the web at ease (cell phone = Motorola Razr). I'm really considering a Blackberry as my phone contract is up for expiration/renewal in July.

Other than that, I do have my laptop with my while working, but it is only connected to the internet if I happen to stop in at an office with Wi-Fi or if I stop at Panera, Starbucks or the like. Even in the unlikely even that I am connected to the net, I don't check in to my sites (except on a rare occasion), as I am known to get carried away and not get any real work done.

Oh, and I have an iPod touch which I rarely browse the net with. (Besides, it requires that I am in a Wi-fi hotspot to even have accessibility)

I tend to monitor my websites via my MacBook when I'm away. I do indeed have an iPhone, but I find it awkward to properly browse websites while using it. There is something about the smaller screen that turns me off - I'd rather view my website in all of its glory. :p

LOL, I know the feeling. Browsing the web on the iPod touch isn't so bad, but it isn't the greatest experience either.

I just find it to be strange. I'm always used to having a full keyboard in front of me, and I can't get comfortable typing on the touch screen. Sure, it's fantastic for texting (I'm an addict), but composing messages... eh.

    This is true.

It does come in handy to just lurk, though. Especially when you're bored (ie: on a train listening to music with in Safari).

No doubt about it. It's also a bit more comfortable to handle than say, a MacBook, when it comes to using it "on the go". :)

I've had my current Cell Phone for around 4 years, and as you can imagine it is pretty tatty and I'm sure the battery is on it's last legs. When I do decide to purchase a new phone, I will be going for a hand held/PDA. One of my friends has something (forgotten what it is, Palm something) and it is pretty fantastic.

Although I can't see myself checking into any forums, the main reason is I can't stand the tiny keyboards! LOL. I see these people who type/text on them so fast and I can't understand how!!! Plus, New Zealand is wayy behind the rest of the world and our WiFi access is pretty limited and the charge for the internet over the service provider is too expensive.

You get used to it. I don't even have a full keyboard and can do about 30 words per minute. Most phones come with suggestion software as well so as you type it suggests possible words. Just a tap on the screen or the right key selects entire words.
I pay $30.00 a month for unlimited Internet Access on my phone. This is on top of the service fees and other options like the text messaging package we have. For two phones (mine and my wife's) its about $120 a month total. That is 500 anytime minutes, 1000 texts per month and unlimited internet on my phone.

My laptop is my mobile solution. I don't have a smart phone, although I'd really like a phone but it's cost-prohibitive and not that easy to get one on a prepaid plan. I don't want to get locked into a contract so I only go with pre-paid phones, currently I use tracfone which doesn't even offer a smartphone. I've been looking @ both T-Mobile and Verizon but Verizon is expensive for the blackberries, even when prepaying and I'm not sure if t-mobile (I'd really like the G1) works at my house. If it doesn't work at my house I'm not buying it.

Anywho, my laptop is almost 10 pounds I'd guess so it's not easy to lug around but I'm generally not away from home for too long anyhow and when I go visit a friend for more than a few hours, I grab my lappy and connect via their WiFi. When I go visit my aunt and uncle who are stuck in prehistoric times with NO internet at all, I find a local coffee shop and check stuff out for a few minutes while downing a coffee. :)

There isn't much I can't do with my Dell Laptop and a Blackberry

We travel a lot and those two things makes it easy to keep track of the site as well as our business etc.

There's been a couple of times when I've tried to sneak a quick peak on other computers when I'm far away from home. I don't know what it is, maybe that I'm so far away and still on my site, but it is always an awkward feeling for me.

not me, I find a computer I'm taking it over

I make sure we stay in hotels with WiFi or a business center. The BlackBerry is a back up in case they have neither.

In the time that I've owned my MacBook (used to have a desktop), I haven't gone away yet. I actually can't wait to get the chance to go on the net inside a hotel room or something like that. Now that's not so awkward.

I remember when you first got your MacBook - you wouldn't be quiet for weeks. :D
