I'm looking to merge a thread but need help figuring out which thread will be the one that stays. Do I merge the keeper with the other or the other with the keeper? I hope I'm explaining that right. I've done it once before and ended up using the wrong thread as the main thread.

    Thanks

You go to either of the two threads, choose Thread Tools -> Merge Thread (above the first post). Enter the URL of the second thread that you want to combine with the first. After entering the URL, you can choose which of the two threads is the "destination" thread. The destination thread is the one that remains. The other thread is merged into the destination thread.

    Hope this helps.

You select merge thread from the to be merged thread, then paste URL of the thread it's to be merged into.

If you do the merge from a search or the forum view it's much easier. All you do is check off both threads and use the moderation menu to select merge threads. Your given the option to choose which thread to keep.

To keep things simple I run a search for which both threads will show up and then do the merge that way most time.
