Do you find members signing up seemingly only to have a chat with yourself? On our teen forum we now and then get a member sign up that never bothers to post and they tend to send one of us a PM with something like "Hey hows u?".

Personally, I dont mind these messages myself if they have contributed before but signing up never to become involved and by that I mean make 1 post is quite frustrating, why dont they simply use a chat room or converse with members instead? It would be much better that way :D

Nope... I never seem to have this. It also makes no sense why they would do this :P
Maybe there is something about teenagers that like to use the PM systems?

I've not had people sign up specifically to do this, but I have had people reply to the welcome PM. I just talk to anyone who asks to be honest.

We get those. I just ignore them.

But, I do alert our members to watch for creepers who say things like "I'm new here, what's your name, where do you live?" because we also get those.

I tend to quite often. I cant believe someone would have the cheek to ask a random person where they live :D
