Looking for contest Ideas

I'm looking for ideas for contest prizes. I'm willing to spend 100-200$ on prizes for our first posting contest.
What do you think would be good prizes? I'll also try to get some swag donated to give out as well.

I'm thinking maybe gift certificates for newegg or something tech related?

It will be a posting contest, that also counts referrals, characters per post, and the forums I select. It'll be a similar setup that I ran on vBSetup.

It won't be for cash outright, I am down for purchasing items with cash and giving those away or like I said, gift certificates.

My old forum it was targeted, so finding prizes people wanted was relatively easy
...maybe amazon, or any other online store.

Amazon Gift Card would be sick, since they don't take paypal so it's hard for me to get anything. $50 Gift Card would probably be best --TigerDirect gift certificates another good thing, and maybe an iTunes Gift Card

Gift cards have always worked for me. Plus, if you are going to purchase the gift cards you can use your own shopping affiliate links (or if you don't have any, let me know and I can give you my links ) to earn a little rebate/commission as well

I did a whole month of a $10 gift card per day last year and it went over very well. Cost me $200 (Monday through Friday for four weeks) and was well worth it.

I need some ideas for contest prizes people :glasses-nerdy:

I'll spend 200-300 if needed, but I think we could get by with a bit less.

so for the only thing I've came up with is 25-50$ vouchers for amazon or other major web shopping places.

That sounds good and pretty easy to manage on my end.
I know in the past when I've had downloads donated it was a hassle at times getting the prizes to the winners.
Do you have a list of the advertisers that offer gift cards?
You can make a blog post and list them out if you want, I just approved affiliate links in our blogs if you like, or just pm me the info. :pirate:

I want to get this rolling, I'll break down the winners like this.
75$ to the first place
50$ to 2nd
and 25$ to 3rd. (All USD)

Contest Ideas?

I have a few prizes in mind for our next contest, but I'm interested in hearing a few ideas on how to build points.
We can do the same posting style contest but I really like to expand each contest so by our 4th or 5th one, you can get points several ways besides just posting. (like blog entries or maybe album uploads fpr example)

So... Ideas??
