Left 4 Dead 2 is one of the hottest PC games to come along in a long time. Its "supposed" to be released in early November - but with Valve software you never know. If you play PC Games, how would you like to win a copy instead of buying it?

The Elite Gamers Forum is having a forum posting contest. The first place winner will win a copy of Left 4 Dead 2.

I love Left 4 Dead. And I can't wait for Left 4 Dead 2. Unfortunately I play the 360 version, so I'll have to pass this great contest.

Left 4 Dead 2, for me, is a disappointment, it was supposed to be a free extra for left 4 Dead 1 and they just decided to "Hey! Left 4 Dead was good let's make this free extra a paid one and let's make it the second version!"

So pretty much is the same game, same music, same zombies, same everything for exception of a few added things.

I have to disagree with that statement - there are new types of zombies, new weapons, new characters,,,, all kinds of new stuff.

Its going to be how half-life 2 was to half-life 1. Kinda close, but totally different.

A software development company by the name of turtle rock - they also made counter-strike - are the ones that started the development on left 4 dead. When the people at valve software saw the game, instead of just buying the rights to left 4 dead, they bought the whole turtle rock company. Turtle rock and valve were then merged.

Left 4 Dead 2 is going to be a combination of some of the greatest game developers in todays market. While left 4 dead was a turtle rock production, then fine tuned by valve.

Also, left 4 dead was not a finished product when it was released. There were just too many rough edges, some of them still have not been worked out - such as the invisible walls on the roof tops and the physics flaw in the auto shotty.

I look for left 4 dead 2 to by much more refined and tweaked then left 4 dead was. It might even be mostly finished when its released, unlike the original l4d.

Left 4 Dead 2 is different from Left 4 Dead in many ways.

It's not the same game. Sure, it's very similar, but it's not the same game. Plus, Valve has stated they will still be adding more DLC to the original Left 4 Dead, even following the new Crash Course update.

Left 4 Dead 2 has different music. Different zombies. New "uncommon" common infected. New special infected. More weapons. New "melee" weapons. The new improved "AI Director 2.0" has the ability to do much more than the one in L4D1.

If you liked L4D1, you won't be disappointed with L4D2.

As I said, a few added things.

Which is why there are so many of us that are pissed off at this. They let loose a game in its beta-state, then a year later asks us to pay for a new game, which essentially, at its core, is an add-on to L4D.

I love Valve, but I think this is just a stupid move.

An add-on is usually much smaller then the original game. l4d2 is just as big as l4d, if not bigger. You will certainly have more weapons in part 2 and more special infected zombies.

The people at Valve Software are in the game business to make money. You do not make money by giving stuff away for free.

L4D2 might have started out as an add-on, but developed into its own project. And people are mad about that? There is nothing to be mad about.

The people at Valve software made a sound business decision and I agree with it.

Oooohhh, more weapons and better zombeh skins. You're right, that's worthy of another $50. Valve may be in the business to make money, but unlike EA, they're a company known to take care of their customers, and for that, we spread the word, they make more money, etc. There's more to life than just making the money, and Valve knows that. This is something that we'd expect of EA, not Valve.

Get your head out your ass and you'll see that. Just look at how different TF2 is from the launch two years ago.

I see a game that I'am willing to pay $50 for. If you do not want to pay $50 for l4d2, then dont.

tf2 is a sorry excuse for a team fortress game. If you want to play a "real" team fortress game, play Fortress Forever.

Team Fortress 2 is not a real Team Fortress game – Gaming news information and forums

Even hitler hates team fortress 2 - Forums on console and computer games

Is the Team Fortress community divided? - Forums on console and computer games

    -- EDIT --

And I fail to see how disapproval of L4D2 has anything to do with the contest. If you dont like what Valve is doing, sign up on my forums and post your stuff there.

Nobody is right, and nobody is wrong - its a difference of opinion. That is where this thing called "respect" comes in.

I respect your opinion on l4d2. And I fully understand your viewpoint.

In return, I ask that you respect my opinion.

If you do not want to buy L4D2, then sign up on my forum, and win the contest. That way you will not have to buy it.

Clearly, you don't know much about Left 4 Dead 2. It's not just new weapons and better skins.

There are NEW playable special infected, five brand new campaigns, and a new unrevealed game mode.

In the end I guess it all comes down to opinion, but I can most certainly see Left 4 Dead 2 being successful.

If anyone here has a gaming blog, I need your help. Is there anyway that someone can help get the word out about the contest?

The first day went great with somewhere around 400 post, but I need more active posters.
