Just Playin' -- Ranks

Just playin' around last night and came up with these.

Not as elegant as a couple of members images, but I'm still just kinda learning to make buttons and badges for forums.

Let me know what you like or don't, and how you think I might improve them.

I dont like the bevel, maybe improve and add proper tassles to each side?

The tassels are actually supposed to represent a display stand of sorts.

And this time there's no actual bevel, tho it does appear so.

Hmmm...back to the drawing board...

 

I can imagine them working with forums for older audiences but there is something about them that doesnt look very modern, maybe it is the shape or the colours chosen but something makes them look old to me

 

Just some gradient layers and inner shadows?

 

And a couple of strokes thrown in.

 

^^;; You gotta work a bit with the inner shadows, seems like they're so dark and concentrated they come off as bevel.

Also, the text, oh the text!! It bugs me for some reason ><... Looks like it doesn't "suit" the rank.

 

lol, my mind keeps screaming "1996!!!!!"

 

Take out those little bars, looking like tables or something.
