I was making considerable money using Shopping Ads, which link to eBay auctions, up until 4 months ago, when they started having "problems". For whatever reasons, these problems are still not resolved, so they're a pretty useless program at this point.

I'm looking for something comparable. EBay Partner Network barely generates anything on my site. I'm certain it's because their ads are static for the most part. They change when the auctions end:rolleyes:.....Shopping Ads was so successful b/c you could literally shop eBay right on our site. Every refresh or every new post, every new thread you opened, etc, there were new ads to look at.

I really need something like this! Was anyone using Shopping Ads that now has switched to something comparable?

Thank you so much for any help you can give!

I've never heard of Shopping Ads, but I'd be interested in seeing some of the recommendations and responses to this thread.

    Hi Amy,

I have something similar but using eBay's Partner Program combining it with the open source ad management system OpenX.

What I do is install OpenX and configure about 5 different eBay ads from their Widgets --> Custom Banner section. This displays live ads from eBay auctions.

The reason why I like this is because I can choose which type of eBay auctions I want to display on my site and only display relevant auctions from eBay on my site. Example: My forum/site deals with MP3/MP4 players, so I have eBay auctions showing only MP4 players, headphones, Skins for MP3/MP4 players etc....

It does take alittle bit of time setting up as you have to install OpenX and add the ad spots. But once they're in there, that's it, all the clicks from eBay are now coming to you instead.

What kind of earnings (generally speaking) are you seeing? Considerable, or nothing fancy?

Before eBay changed their earnings structure, I was doing around USD$100~$200 per month about 2 years ago when they were with Commission Junction.

Now with their earning changes (it's more quality of clicks now rather than sales and sign up bids), I'm doing around USD$30~$50 per month so it has dropped abit.

However, any revenue is good as it all helps to pay for the site and is just another alternative to Adsense etc.... I wish they paied more :)

I tried to partner up with eBay on Walt Disney Boards, but I was never contacted back. I have to set that up again because, as superfishnz mentioned, any revenue is good revenue :)

Plus, my Disney fans would definitely be interested in checking out some Disney-related items up for auction. That's for sure :D

I checked out your site and noticed you have Amazon ads on there. Does it do alright for you? Me, I've been using Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk Partner Program and after about two years, still haven't made enough for my first $100 cheque yet:(. I definitely prefer eBay's program and it offers a lot products in their widgets and creatives. I think it adds some good value to your site too.
