What do you think the best settings are to have if you are trying to encourage members to post photos etc...

I prefer to host the images myself so in 6-12 months time if new members sign up the images are still there to be seen and haven't been removed and so I am looking to encourage members to upload photos etc as an attachment and was wondering what you thought the best settings were for it.

Depending on your niche if you're a dSLR forum type make sure its huge. Heck even $100 digital camera's can out put some pretty large files and with broadband being widely used its not a big as issue it used to be.

we have a DIY section....so we set up a public photobucket account that people could use to load their images in...that way...like you said...6-12 months down the road they'll still show up

Wow, that's a good idea! How do you let your members know about this account (that it exists) and what the password is? Is it in a Sticky thread or something?
