Ideas for Rankings?

Good evening everyone,
I was just wondering where you all got your ideas for the User Rankings that you use on your websites from?

For those who haven't read many of my posts I run an Australian Based General Sports Forum, and am completly blank when it comes to User Ranks for it.

Any Ideas and or suggestions on where to find ideas will be appreciated!

 

I also do sports, but I use the general mod/admin/smod/prem ranks. But here's an idea I just got. Why not call your mods/smods "Referees"? Crazy huh? I know

Newbies could be Recruits or Rookies, your highest non-staff could be Sports Star... afraid I don't know enough about sports to offer better suggestions for intermediate ranks

 

You have no idea as to how hard I'm laughing right now. :lol:

You could possibly throw in "All-Star" as a higher level rank.

 

Code:

Administrators " Coaches " 
Members " Players "
Banned " Benched "
Premium " All Star "
Super Moderator " Special Referee "
Moderator " Referee "
Users Awaiting Activation " Crowd " (If You Have Confirm E-Mail Enabled)

Yeah, I like AK's suggestions. Especially "Benched" for banned members. :lol:

 

For the users who are waiting for activation, you could also call them "Spectators".

 

you should make the member profiles look like trading cards.

 

Player Cards Are Good Too, But You Should Have The Images Uploaded
For A Certain Backround Of Sports Images.
And For Avatars, Upload Some Of The Sport
Stuff Like:
A Basketball
A Soccer Ball
A Football
And So ON.........And The Avatar Would Determine The Members
" Favorite " Sport.

lol I love the idea of having the profiles look like Trading Cards - back to staring at code trying to work it all out, also thanks AK for the ideas for Rankings! I love the banned users as Benched and stuff I may start work on the rank images now could be something fun to do!

 

Hehe, I seem to have a knack for making people stare at code. It's usually from breaking something though

 

lol - same here but I like the idea I am currently drawing up in photoshop how I think it should look and then go from there.

Work out how I want it to look
Then work out how to make it look like that - Merk_aus to visit numerous vbcoding sites

And Expand My Thinking On What Would Sound Best For What Type Of Forum It

Lol I am currently working on it, I just finished uploading my testvb board since I only just found out that I can have cause to hell if I was going to try this on the live site haha, so yeah I am currently trying to work it all out and make it look nice

I went and got all of my old trading cards out to try and match up.
