Have you ever been banned from someone else's forum?

I think I may have been banned from a forum (I'm not sure... it isn't saying I'm banned, just that I don't have permission to post) because I deleted some truly crappy posts the admin made on my forum. I didn't ban him or speak harshly to him, just deleted some posts he should have known better then to make in the first place. Oh well, it isn't a big deal... I didn't have my heart set on posting on his forum anyway.

Have you ever been banned from another forum? Did you deserve the punishment or was the admin being unfair?

 

As I remember I have never been banned from another forum, and I am not planning on getting one either.

 

Yes, I have been banned from the same forum about 8 times since 2006, lol.

And trust me, just about everyone else that has been to the forum has been banned from it as well. I'm sure you know the one.

 

I've been banned on two forums - a Creationist forum and a competing forum. The former would not have been so funny if, due to a previous administration mistake, the owner had given me a 'get out of jail free' card.

I guess posting facts was just that offensive.

 

Yeah, only one forum. Why? Because I run a competing site.
I was an active member on the said forum, I made over 800 posts in less than a month after registering, and as soon as it was discovered that I manage a competing site, bam - I'm banned.
I didn't even promote, mention, or hint my site on their forum. It's just a combination of the owner's insecurity and rudeness.

 

Yes, the Mod on another board disagreed with my political views...in a political section I found out later that I wasn't the only one banned for their political opinions. Why have a political section if you're going to ban everything who thinks differently than you? That was the first time I've ever been banned from a site...in probably 8yrs.

Oh I got a warning from a local site once...a site I supported financially. It never happened but I stopped supporting the site. Now it's run under new management which is cool.

Yep. This other site had an admin that used to be a mod on a site I was an admin on. He knew I was starting a new site that he saw as competition to the one he was admining. He kept banning me from the site for no reason. Then the owner would unban me. Then he would ban me again. It's pretty funny to look back at it.

Yes i was banned from a forum for exposing the admins scamming behaviour, i didnt mind being banned as i couldnt keep quiet any longer.

I got banned from a number of forums. You all know I have very shady ethics and morals. Banned from 4chan for boxxy posting. Banned from Misetings for no reason (they do that). Banned from MTGS for insulting the recently deceased moderator (seriously, I didn't mean to!). Banned from RealMTG for starting a feud between them and my site (guess who is dead now? :V). Banned from kongregate for cybering in the chatbox. Banned from some women-only forum for raids... Yeaaaaah.... :o

TBH, I got caught in a sweep. I didn't really have anything to do with it (I didn't even post!). All I did was PM an admin saying, "you better get on fast dude" and then my account got nuked later that day. Shoulda named myself something less obvious than Suiseiki.

My punishments were well deserved, I suppose. I was trolling on one, I advertised my site on another and on the other, I was just a very adamant person. Everytime somebody said something that I didn't agree with, I pick a debate. When people insult others, I jump in and pick an argument. Generally, I am bullheaded.

And, people didn't like my ways and I wouldn't change myself for any body or the forum. So, I got all my warnings, and infractions and that led to my ban.

I'm IP banned from one, temporarily banned from another and I have been unbanned from the forum I was a bullhead on.

 

Uhh, I got banned for thinking differently that the mods on an anime forum. :| Umm, if I recall correctly, It was about which anime was good and stuff, I kept saying that we shouldn't generalize because different people have different tastes, but I guess some one thought bleach was the universal anime. So, I am still banned, 2 years later.

 

That's ridiculous. Moderation Rule # 1: Never let your personal beliefs and/or opinions get in the way.

Yup, I got banned from a forum because I didn't allow them to advertise their forum on mine.
