For those of you who run an arcade on your site

Do you ask members to post to use the arcade? How many posts would you say is reasonable in your view?

 

On one of my forums there is a 3 post requirement before they can use the arcade.

On another one of my forums, there is no requirement.

 

Basic arcade access isn't granted until they've made 5 posts, because I don't want someone coming in just to play the games. The really desirable games can only be played by people with 500 posts though.

New members have to make three posts per day to get access to the arcades.

Once they've shown a genuine interest to tak part in the site, we manually lift this. However, we do expect them to play a part in the community, even if it's a just a couple of posts a week.

If they then stop posting and only play games, we put the restriction back again.

 

I don't have a posting limit, it just "costs" a certain amount of WDBucks to play them. And, to earn WDBucks you'd have to post.

 

How many WDBucks does it cost to play? And how many WDBucks do they earn per post? Just wondering how many posts it takes per game.

 

I can't recall the details off hand. But, I believe it's something like 10 WDBucks per game.
