I think it's healthy to gather the community's opinions on the forum and its ongoing presence every once in a while... So let's play "a game" as you may like to call it:

List your favorite thing(s) about AA, and for each like, also include a dislike (it doesn't have to be related to the thing you do like).
Also, please create and post your likes/dislikes before reading the other members' lists to avoid any influential bias. :)

We look forward to your feedback!

The administrators are too sexy for my shirt. But they are also too inadequate for me.

There are lots of members here. But there are also a fair share of irritating ones.

AA doesn't have that guest limiting mod. But they also don't have an arcade.

    • The best thing is the admin/owners. Good people. .
    • There does not seem to be any time limit on edit posts which is great!
    • I like the thread marking system you have in place.
    • Waynes posts are awesome!

    • Not so much a couple of members here (and I hate saying that), but they seem to come/go over the last few months.
    • I'm really not liking the setup you have where if I put an url in a thread the software is set up to mangle the url with words, I know some people think it is great but I'd rather have the actual link.

    Most favorite: Chris Martin

Least favorite: All the blues in the design do not match and I want to get in and tweak and make them match. They clash.

Okay, how girlie does that last one sound? I am not even that girlie. :o

Got some great feedback. Thanks a bunch, y'all!

Ohh... What does everybody think about this? Anything is possible, you know. :D

Why don't you replace them with some of your own advertisements? :D Bulk discount... :giggle:

Hopefully it's temporary. We all miss him! :)

    Sorry. :P

I've never heard that one before! Everybody seems to actually like the scheme.
    ... Very interesting ...

It isnt the type of skin I could ever have a problem with, its fine the way it is. It may not be customised to shit but it works, is easy on the eye and doesnt look boring, looks what I would expect.

Maybe squeeze in the spiderable links sometime :D

I think the color scheme is fine, but then again I come from a world where blue matches blue and these "blues" just seem to be different tints of the same color. ;)

Also, I like the change in the link to a "user friendly" readable version. If I want the link I just click on it and then pull the actual link from the address bar. Did I miss something in Abomination's post?

    Favorite things for me:

    * Variety of topics - a very wide selection
    * This site is very easy to use
    * For the most part the community membership is very friendly
    * Staff: Nick is very helpful and willing to go the extra mile to even research any questions or concerns that you have.
    * Staff: Chis M. brings fun to the forums and I believe works hard to grow the "community feeling"

Least favorite things for me: (I believe if you complain then you have to be prepared with a solution so here are my suggestions as well) :D

    * The limited depth of some of the topics. I think that as a AA community we could really go further into some of the topics that we discuss. I would love to explore some of these topics in greater depth, but with the ebbs and flows in the posting cycle it is sometimes a toss up as to whether or not a thread will take off. I would offer that creating a "Hot Topic for the Week" or something similar would be helpful. The person that runs this effort would take a look at the types of questions that are being raised on the forum and determine which topic to spotlight for a given peroid of time. Then we could have a webinar, release an article, etc during that time.

    * I think a lot of the great information on this site is under utilized. Perhaps utilize some of the content of the "better" conversations to generate an ebook or manual for AA members. (Always thinking of membership perks.) For example, there are quite a few threads that touch on how to start a community. Perhaps we merge all of these conversations together into one document and then work together to review, add content where needed, and package it. AA could sell it for $7 (there is a method to that number that can be found by purchasing the 7 dollar secrets ebook at http://www.7DollarSecrets.com/[email protected]) to people who aren't members and offer it for free to people who are members.

*Contests based on posts and thread creation. I think that these types of contests spur posts that don't inspire useful, educated, intriguing conversation. I believe some people post to increase their numbers in the hopes of winning. I would ask that in the future if you guys want to do contests to work it out so that those that post helpful content are rewarded. There are a few people on this site that offer great content (not limited to but including Wayne, Arny, and Abonination) that I would like to see rewarded for the quality of their posts and not the quantity.

This is great! :D Maybe make it harder to access the anonymous group then have spiderables for those in there or make another level tier for Ultimate Addicts :p

I'm not sure. I was trying to say I prefer this:
    www.servInt.net

    Compared to this:
Managed VPS Hosting - Managed Enterprise Servers by ServInt

I know people like them, not my thing, please ignore any of my input! LOL...

Ok... then I understood. Is that just personal preference or is there a method to your madness? ;)

    Favorite Things:

    • The administration. Nick, Chris and Tyler are amazing. Everyone dedicates an even amount of time into AdminAddict and make sure everyone, and everything that is published is closely moderated. Chris is especially amazing for sponsoring AdminAddict with all these wonderful rewards for contests, etc. Nick is great for providing users with exceptional content and information with moderating and administrating a forum. Savage, ultimately is great for first producing this site! Really, everyone is great, but each of you, in my opinion, specialize in something. :)
    • The content. Everything that is published here is great. The articles, the tips, the posts - the everything.
    • The users. The members here are one-of-a-kind. I've never come into a place with such dynamic and fun members!
    • The uniqueness. No other administrator-friendly has so many contests and provide as much activity and resources. Some others are just more established. But with the constant flow of users and new content here at AdminAddict, we'll be bigger than any other. Also, no other Administrator-friendly community I have been apart of asked for users' inputs. Take for example, AdminAddict hosting. You all asked what we thought before implementing the idea.
    • The marketplace. The marketplace is steadily growing with new offers, new sellers, new freebies, trades, affiliations, advertising offers- the list goes on. This is great for guests who may be looking to sell a site, and will see the enthusiasm our current users have in taking over one's site. :D
    • The advertisements. The advertisements are actually those of users. They are not annoying ones submitted by Google, Kontera, or another PPC company.
    • The service. The service you all provide to the users are great - although the genre is overpopulated, you guys are different from your competitors.
    Least favorite things:

    • The "bad" users. The "bad" users are those that sign up and do not contribute.
    • The allowance of inactive accounts. I don't see the point of allowing inactive accounts, or those that do not have a post count of 0.
    • The inactivity of staffers. This includes Savage X and Blackout. Although Savage gets on daily, I rarely see something new from him, and when was the last time Blackout reviewed a site? :uhh:
    • All the unread posts.
All in all, I'm a satisfied user of AdminAddict! ;)

I like to know what the url actually is. I just need to hover my mouse over the improved url to see it, that's all.

Having urls like that are a bit creepy, and disguised urls like that are what show up in spam sometimes.

I was on a forum that had a message similar to this:
"click here to see what the moderators don't want you to see!!! www moderators.adminaddict.net"

and of course it was a completely different url, I clicked on it, went to a porn site, and as an added bonus it hijacked my computer with dozens of pop-up ads.

I like being able to post, and dont have to worry about getting an infraction or banned because my post was too short.

Sometimes, things are best said with just a few words. But on some forums, the moderators want to you write a book to say something that fits best in one or 2 sentences.

Sometimes I do not feel like writing 3 - 4 paragraphs on a topic that can be answered in just 1 or 2 sentences.

And I like the unread post modification at the top of the page.
