Do you use the facebook connect on your forum? If you do then why did you decide to install it?
Do you use the facebook connect on other forums where you are an member and they have it? If you come to an new forum that use it and you want to join to you join normally or do you join with the facebook connector?

I tried Facebook Connect for vBulletin and the modification didn't work properly. I didn't want to waste my time messing with it, and since it's unsupported by the creator, I uninstalled it.

    Thread moved to Forum Software.

I don't know much about this mod... does it allow Facebook members to log on and post without registering? If so, that's no good, I want them to register properly. Does it allow existing members to tie their Facebook account to the forum account and remain logged in as the user travels from Facebook to my forum? We already have an automatic log in feature. Does it let the user publicize their Facebook account? It's ok with me if they exchange them, but I want them to do their talking on my forum, not Facebook.

If I recall correctly, when they log in with Facebook, an account for them is automatically created. You can map Facebook profile fields (i.e., Location, E-mail address, etc.) to correspond with profile fields on your forum.
Once they log in with Facebook, they now have an account - they can go to their UserCP, modify their profile, etc. They are just as much of a member as somebody who signs up via the regular registration process.

No, Facebook accounts are not publicized on your forum. It's actually the other way around... you can set it up so that a note/notification is posted on the user's Facebook wall when they 1) sign up on your forum, 2) create a thread on your forum and/or, 3) reply to a thread on your forum. So on their Facebook profile, their friends will see, "I just signed up on ____" or, "I just created a discussion thread on ____".

    I hope this helps. :)

Aah... in that case it might be beneficial. (If it worked.)

I'd install it (if it worked)...but I have no love for Facebook. Maybe I'll play with it later if I ever get around to moving my forum around.

They say it works wonderfully if you have a Facebook Group for your site.

I never could get the one to work for vBulletin. IP.Board has it built in by default though and works flawlessly.

That's one of the biggest draws I have to IPB 3 - the Facebook Connect integration. I was shocked to see it implemented, but ecstatic nonetheless.

If only vBulletin would do the same.

I would most definately use it - however just like many other great mods it has quickly become unsupported and unworked on. Would be good if the original creator or someone else fixed it all up and re-released it!

I installed this on my vB site first time and it works a treat, after I posted on Facebook that I had this, I got 10 new members in 1 day.

It is a little time consuming with all the template edits and stuff, but it is well worth the hassle, anyone with a facebook account can just log in and the site will automatically make them a member.

This is one very good plugin, only snag is, as previously mentioned, the coder does not support this mod anymore.

Yep, exactly. I would be all over this plugin if it was fully supported. I'd probably even pay for it.
