WARNING: I am looking for serious individuals only, and those with a slight interest in Fashion. If you do not have an interest, and are not serious, do not waste my time. Read on.

In the next few months, I plan to develop a new, and a potentially big Fashion site. This site will include a phpBB forum. Because I am inexperienced with installing modifications, and doing other backend work, I am seeking an experienced phpBB back-end administrator.

Your duties would be the following:

    • To actively install new updates for the phpBB platform. This includes security features, new phpBB releases, etc.
    • To install modifications. This includes both what I request, and what you think could better the forum. However, you must ask for my final approval, unless said otherwise.
    • To help new members getting around the forum. This includes teaching them how to use the User Control Panel's functions, how to use the forum's functions, and how to use other technical functions.
    • To promote the forum where you can. This includes advertising the said forum in your signature (where it is allowed), affiliating with related forums, and using other methods of promotion.
    • SEO... This is big.
You must know English, work well with others, and act professional. It would also be good if you can assist with giving new ideas for the forum. In addition you will not need any capital to partake in this opportunity. Unless, the site gets severely huge and we choose to expand it. 30% of revenue will be given to you. Revenue will come from advertising, paid subscriptions, etc. However, in the early stages, I am offering you payment. This can be discussed. However, the bare maximum is 15 dollars per month - if this is too little, let me know. Also, I will offer you advertising space for your personal site or forum.

If you think you could be a component with this partnership, and want to negotiate further, I am open! Let's just be reasonable, this will be a new forum, and if I splurge too much, I won't have much left.

Please contact me here, at AdminAddict, via PM.

    Thanks

Haha, if fashion wasn't required, I would definitely apply. As it stands now, though, I buy my clothes from Wal-Mart and get a new pair of shoes once a year, so I don't think I'm quite the candidate for the job in that regard. I do have the phpBB/SEO experience, though.

@oneupdave: Better than me lol. I've had the same shoes for the past 4 years almost. And they still look like new. I guess I don't get out much lol.

If you're looking someone with phpbb knowledge, why not just look for someone with a licensed vB or ipb that can do it for you? I mean, it's a lot better and since you're not doing it, they are, perfect lol.

I know zero about phpBB, and I just replace a wallet last night that was falling apart where I found notes from 1997 so I don't have any interest in fashion either.

My hunch is you will be successful based on the energy, gusto, and enthusiasm you have on this project.

    Suggestions:
    • Think long and hard about how much power you want to give this person you are hiring. There have been several documented cases where technical people gain control of a forum because the site (fashion___.com/net/org) is in their name. DO NOT let that happen, keep it registered in your name. If it is in the tech persons name they can point the url to a completely different site. There is at least 1 case at the present time going through the federal court system on a moderately large forum where arguments are now being heard where that happened. I'm not saying that to scare you just trying to point out something you may not have thought of.
    • You may want to put a broad general statement in your request regarding "general site maintainance" such as backups, archiving, security, etc is a requirement.
    • You may want to re-word your offer for free advertising such as adding 'if appropriate, free advertising'. My guess is you may not want certain things advertised on a fashion site.
    • I think you meant $15 minimum ;)
    • You may want to mention your preferred method of communication such as email, phone, PM, and how available they need to be. Sometimes sites go down a phone call is faster than an email. I'm not sure what you prefer.

I think you will be successful! .

Good tips, Abomination! Definitely take care of that first point, it is more headaches than it's truly worth, and can waste a lot of time and money, possibly even your reputation.
