I was browsing vBulletin.com when I came across a blog entry: Liquid Layout = Less Ad Revenue?

You can read the full blog above, but the point is rather simple. Author argues that a fixed layout is more simple to read and that ultimately readability translates into money from ads. The example given is cash spread across a room and only one minute to collect as much as you can. Then double the size of the room and spread it out. ie person has to go further to collect money so bigger isn't always better.

This isn't an issue I've really entertained, thought it was an interesting discussion point though. I personally always opt for fluid layouts to make use of screen real estate, but from a design perspective, the fixed layout is great.

Well, depends on how big the layout really is, if it's like adminaddict, you should be OK but if you actually have a huge layout with little ads on the page it might affect it.
