Do you delineate different types of admins?

I was wondering if anyone here gives admins specific areas they're responsible for?

For instance on my board we have 3 admins: Fred, Jon, and myself.

Fred is the member admin: Generally that means he deals with member issues and has first call.

Jon is the sales admin: He deals with the sponsors and what ever promotions they're looking to do.

Dan (me) is the tech admin: aka geek I deal with all the technical stuff to make the board run, promotions possible, etc.

Even though we all have the same ACP permissions, If someone feels more comfortable talking to Jon about an issue he can deal with member issues too. Same difference some times Jon's busy so I deal with the sales aspect of things.

Just wondering anyone else does this?

    Cheers,
    Dan

In all honesty, I've never done something like this - I've always considered my fellow co-administrators to be equal in all categories of "administrative" expertise. This is a great idea, however - I may have to try this out.

By delegating specific responsibilities to different individuals, it could work out quite nicely... and lighten the work load.

Not really, but when I go on vacation I set the vB software to alert different people for different things... one admin gets the new member emails and checks up on them, another gets the error messages, etc.

I make sure the site stays working. Updates and upgrades etc.

My other Admin is in charge of the members, staff and forum management.

I don't do this, but it's really something I have always wanted to try. Although every administrator would have access and control of everything, it's easier if we were to be divided to focus on certain sections. It allows us to develop our own style of managing that aspect of things, and means we can easily be consistent.

I really don't give out specific roles other than back-end administration.

All of the administrators, on both of my communities, tend to complete tasks as they arise.
