It's no secret most forum owners will create a bunch of sockpuppet accounts and have them all talk to each other in order to get the place going. But once things are stable, do you stop using those accounts?

I have a test account but that's about it. I will say that I've thought of making my current admin account a regular user and making a new account for administration purposes but logging out and back in to do simple things is too much work. :D

I've never used another account to post before. I can see how this would be a smart thing to do when you want to get your forum off the ground, though. However, I've somehow managed to by other means, in the past.

This is one of the tricks/techniques that I haven't once had to use. I could see it being useful, and don't consider it a bad thing, but I've just never had to do it.

I've never created a new account to talk to myself or make the forum seem active. I have one other account and it's a test account and everyone knows it's mine.

I've never done this, either - and I don't plan on doing so anytime soon.

Today my "undercover" regular user account got some PM spam that didn't get sent to any of the admins. Good thing I caught it early.

Like Fmb said, we have never done this at Setsou Design. We strive to make everything original.

And, at Bird is the Word, we have never done this.

Makes no sense to make things look active when in reality, things aren't.
