I had an excellent person (executive) with an excellent helpful attitude put up something that was not readily understandable in a private forum. Tense, verbs, spelling was all off. I know they had just attended a function (business meeting / party) and it is 2am where they are.

    1) Do I fix the post directly, or
    2) quote and edit the quote and say 'is this what you mean LOL...'?

#2 seems a better option at this time to me.

ppffffttt... I'd fix it. But that's just me.
Chances are, if he/she was drunk, he/she won't know it anyway.

I'd either leave it or quote and correct.

That person might be excellent, but I believe that every person should be accountable for what they post and how they post.

    If it's embarrassing...oh, well.

    :)

I'm sure they were well past the intoxicated stage hours prior. Huge annual meeting in progress and they are seeing people they'd not seen in a year.

It was in a private forum not frequented by many. I'll leave it for the time being and they will probably correct it tomorrow. They only posted because the information was urgent in nature and I don't want to embarrass them.

There are moments when other people put up things, then I note what time it is, and do wonder though what condition they may be in.

What about soft deleting and informing them via PM of your concern? ;)
