So, it is my understanding that now that my license is expired (oops) I can either buy the 4.0 forum support license for one price or I can buy the suite for a higher price.

And if I buy only the forum now, say for $180 (not at a place where I can get the real price, sorry) and then 2 months from now I decide to go with the suite, I will them have to pay $285?

Or I can just pay $285 now, get the suite and be done for another year?

    Am I understanding it correctly?

    *feeling quite dumb today* :o

If you buy the suite you will get it until vb5 is available, then you will need to buy again, not sure how much or when they will release it either, it could be 1 year or three years from now, I doubt it will be one year though, probably two or three, at least I hope so.

I am quite sure you get a discount when upgrading to the suite from the forum package but I dont know how much it is, you shouldnt have to pay out for the full suite and should instead be able to upgrade to the suite.

I must add that you dont have to buy the forum license at all unless you want to upgrade to a newer version :)

    Questions:

Do you now have a owned or leased license?
What version vb are you using? vb3.8.x? or vb4.0.x? older?

if you own a license you don't have to pay at all, you just can't upgrade or get updates. (that's if it's a leased license)

Just pay the money. You know vb is the best and you won't have to pay again until vb 5 comes out (only if you want vb5 of course).

who knows...they might even offer a discount (prolly not tho)

Just log into customers area on vb.com and go to purchase and it will tell you the rest.
