How can I set up cookies so I can be logged into myforum.com and also myforum.com/testvb at the same time? The default logs me out when I go from on to the other at the moment.

I should know this but do not.

Do you have a spare URL you can use?
That's what I almost always try to do so I don't run into this situation
What do you have for your cookie settings now? .yoursite.com ?

I went through this a few hours ago. The easiest way is a spare URL, even a subdomain will cause issues. If you're using one of the popular control panels, you could always go the IP address route: http://123.34.67.891/~username/

    default cookie settings.

cookie prefix in config.php file is 'bb'
"path to saved cookies" = '/'
    "cookie domain" = (blank)

While I've got several extra urls that can be used I find it quite odd to need to use them. I'll need to think about what that means from a test user and licensing issue.

At first glance my guess would be changing the "path to saved cookies" would be the thing to change, but under "cookie domain" it says this in the admin cp:

This option sets the domain on which the cookie is active. The most common reason to change this setting is that you have two different urls to your forum, i.e. example.com and forums.example.com. To allow users to stay logged into the forum if they visit via either url, you would set this to .example.com (note the domain begins with a dot.

I am anxiously waiting input from you vb experts! LOL...

Don't play with your cookie settings in the admin cp. Set a new cookie prefix in your config.php page.

    That seemed to work! Thanks!

I'm baffled why this is an issue with v4 beta but not prior vb in the same directory.

I can see Brandon has young kids! LOL...
