So, I saw on the official IPS forums and InvisionModding that people posted their mods on both sites. I wonder, should I try and contact those people and see if they would want to post their stuff on my forums as well or what? I've already got permission from one developer to repost his stuff, with credits of course, so you think I should get the others to or what?

Omg ipbadmin is up! every time i see you post i check =)

    Looks good =)

It will also gain you traffic if you get mods on the site, but putting them up without asking may get you into trouble..

Yea, I already asked and got permission from one guy. He said I could post his mods, the free ones, up on my site.

Just ask them. What are they going to do, find out where you live and burn your house down? I seriously doubt it,,, but then again,, you never know, you never know.

Just be sure to ask nicely.

The only bad thing I see is whether support can be given to people who have trouble with that particular mod. You may get permission but you may not have the author provide support which is vital for people who are not able to install such a script.

A mod may have a security flaw without you knowing so it's always best to keep track of the mods you ask permission to report so your not distributing mods which may cause security risks.

Yea, that's the other thing about it to. I just don't feel right PMing mod developers on other forums asking if they would mind if they posted their stuff on my forum in addition to the other ones.

Better than just assuming they'll say yes. :P

You do know that you're "competing" with IPBSetup, which is doing pretty good, being so new.
This is not said to discourage you, but to spur you on. :)

Brandon's told me he wasn't really going full force on it so, we'll have to wait and see lol. Also, his is mainly about the setup if I recall right, at least that's what I assumed it was, hence the name ipbsetup.com.

It's got similar topics of interests as your site though (such as modifications).

It's more of a site for me to play around with right now, I wish Bryce good luck
The sites are very similar in their general idea, but I'm not really pushing hard on it right now. As I mentioned, mine is currently a learning experience and a "as I get time" type of thing.
    I'm just happy I've started figuring out IP.Content. :)
