lol well it sort of was a dupe thread But i'm with you on September 24 lol

 

xenforo's success is back

don't ask anything about the future
don't ask anything about future features
don't ask anything about additional addons (like cms,..)
don't ask anything

if you're able to enjoy the silence => xenforo will rock for you
if not => move on

(at least that's what kier was communicating to me / what i've understood from his post) in my 3? roadmap threads, which were all closed..
xenforo is WHAT you see NOW, don't expect anything in the future, this way, you'll get always a great suprice (maybe in some weeks, maybe in 2 years )

All we know is, mike posted something about 1.3 and that my 2.5 years old bug ( http://xenforo.com/community/threads/search-form.14759/#post-193681 ) won't be fixed before 1.1

I had to stop to worry about this(you know, no drama anymore..) and search for alternatives (which i wasn't able to find because xf still rocks but there's also IMO MUCH to improve in the communication and in the code......) so i have to stick with xf ATM and wait for IPB4 or scotts project (because i really trust that he'll bring something great on the market and that he knows how to communicate with the clients)

Why would that be a reason not to use XenForo? They're running a business and like any business draw a line where they want to. It may not be a barrel of laughs but there is no bitch slapping and demeaning disrespectful treatment like you get at vBORG or vBulletin. We're all forum owners, we draw the lines of our own choosing.

 

Not saying it should be a barrel of laughs but the staff there sound lock happy.

 

I don't think they are lock happy. They have an off topic chat that seems to work fine. That's were off topic stuff should go. Other than that it's all business because it is a business. One persons humor is another persons speed bump impeding their way to get help or information.
