Are there versions you don't upgrade to?

Do you upgrade to every version of the software you use? Or are there versions you tend to stear clear from?

Myself? I tend to wait fo a .1 version meaning I'll skip the initial .0 version of something. Eg:
3.3.0 I'd skip but i'd upgrade to say 3.3.1. So the initial bugs of a new version release can be fixed, well most of them. I also don't upgrade my live forums to any beta or RC versions of software.

 

Ya, if the new version sucks and doesn't really help us much, then we don't upgrade. If the update includes a patch, then we'd upload those files instead of upgrading right off the bat.

 

Not exactly, but I do tend to wait a few weeks/months before upgrading just encase a patch level or another update suddenly appears

 

I don't usually unless there is something in it, like safety or something that will benefit myself or the community. For example I upgraded vBulletin 4.1.5 left it until 4.1.8.

 

I usually upgrade to the latest and greatest of all my scripts.

I've paid the price for the eagerness as well, but I like shiny new toys..lol

I usually upgrade right away. With vB, I was skipping .x.x releases for a bit until the inevitable patch version came out a few days later. vB does seem to be doing better with that lately though.

If it's a security patch, I generally drop what I'm doing and upgrade my clients and my boards pretty much immediately as once the update is publicized all the bad guys know where the vulnerability is.
