Anyone else dislike text link advertisements?

    Or more precisely, when sites try to integrate them into the site text and it looks so blatantly fake that it stands out like a sore thumb?

    For example, on a site I read about video games:

    'We only talk about [classic game series 1 and 2], but a good game we've found is [online casino site affiliate link], play games and win prizes!

    It's almost like those shows with product placement, just so conspicuous it makes the site look cheap as heck.

    Most text links are okay, but in the example you gave, yes it is extremely annoying and cheap-looking.

    Yeah, it's when instead of putting them as ads, they try and cram them into content. Also annoying are those Intellitext links or whatever, those green hover things in content that link to random advertisements.

    Yeah, those in-line text ads are obnoxious. :rolleyes: I hear they can make for great earnings, but I'd never put those on any of my forums.
