I want to host blogs on my website for Members (not just links to other blogs off of my site). However, vBulletin Blog seems to have poor integration and most reviews I have read about it are less than stellar.

Is there an alternative to vBulletin Blogs that I could use on my website to host patient blogs?

While I disagree with most of the vBulletin Blog reviews, you might look at VBA Dynamics at the vBAdvanced.com website. I think it does blogs or something close to it. The only other thing I would suggest is Wordpress-MU but it is less integrated and would have to be managed separately.

This is one product I have always not liked using so much, it just doesnt feel like much of a blog, maybe with vb4 coming they will update the look of it.

I dont know of any products to replace it, installing wordpress I think would mean having your members register on the blog too to write their own although I am not fully sure how well it is integrated using the hack.

Thanks Michael. Yeah, I'm going to have to look into this more. Hopefully, vB4 will change the blogs for the better.

The rest of my website is going to be Wordpress-based, so I'm trying to figure out a way to do this right (meaning people will actually want to blog because the software is intuitive).

Wordpress looks incredibly powerful, so I'll try to pin down a good compromise.

If vb blogs was like wordpress and was easy to use like it I am sure we would all see many more blogs being wrote by our members, I honestly really dislike the current vbblogs template, it looks old and nothing like an up to date blogging system, the same with the social groups too, no wonder so many forums have these sections empty more or less.

Hope you get the right system :)

I agree, Michael. The vBulletin Forum and Blogs are almost like separate entities and they look too much alike for people to know that it's actually a blog and not just part of the greater Forum.

Off topic: I like your post icons on your Teen Forum.

Find a way to integrate Wordpress-MU and Buddypress. It's worth it. :D

Right off the bat, that gets rid of the Wordpress MU part. If it's open source, though, I'm sure someone could code it to work. Maybe the guy just didn't try hard enough, or doesn't have the time.

That quote isn't going to be true soon. Wordpress and Wordpress MU are going to be combined into a single product. Could happen as early as 2.9 but I think it was said that it would occur by 3.0.

Of course it could be like the vBDrupal bridge and simply stop supporting newer versions of the software.

    I... am... interested. :D

Do you have a link to that?

Link to what? Announcement that they are merging Wordpress and Wordpress-Mu or vBDrupal?
