Another reason not to smoke

And here is yet another reason not to smoke.

I wonder if autism is linked to the mother smoking during pregnancy? If part of the developing structure of the babys brain is impaired by smoking, could that be related to autism?

I never thought about it. But the children that I know with autism have 2 things in common - the mothers smoked, and they were not breast fed.

Smoking is pretty disgusting and dirty any way.

Hopefully this reason helps more prego moms to stop also

 

Good awareness thread.

I would contend that not every mother has the choice to breast feed though. People might infer, or at least I did, that breast feeding is a no brainer and it should be done. I'm just saying its not always possible, unlike it is a choice to smoke or not.
