What are some of the best placements you have discovered on your forums for Google AdSense? I've tried various locations, but I have never really observed to determine which ones are the best.

    What are your recommendations?

I couldn't get adsense to work for me on any forum. Always stuck with pushing affiliate sales myself, especially at webmaster/admin type sites.

Well I used to have poor results - just anywhere from $0.02 to $2-3 per day, but I've actually been doing well lately. I hit a record of $8+ dollars yesterday alone.

On my Linnie Forum I have a small square in the header and it is one of my best performing advertisements. When the Semi Auto Rifles advertisement in the header here expires in a couple of weeks, I'm going to try an AdSense unit up there and see how it does.

Anywhere above the fold seems to work best especially header ads although they are the most off putting ads on any site, especially when they are not relevant. To be honest I am surprised any forum makes any real money off adsense as most people just ignore them and have seen the same ones on hundreds of sites before.

The most succesful for me (based on income from Adsense) comes from the ads "Above the First Post".

I've attached a screenshot of what I mean.

    Hope that's helpful.

    Interesting; that's a placement I've never tried.
