Yeah... using nulled versions of vBulletin and styles etc isn't cool, and you can get into serious trouble for it. You wouldn't go into the shop and steal a CD, so why would you "steal" paid software for free?

I suppose the ones that provide the download are mostly to blame.

Out of curiosity, what's the source for this? I'm wondering while few other forums covered it, not even their official forum...

Please note this thread as well with a statement from Bryan:
Convicted Felon runs this website? - CodeTwink Network

While i feel that it was wrong of what he did, I do respect that he is being admirable and admitting that he did it and not trying to sneak out of it. I want you to name 1 person within that time frame (2001-2004) that did not warez, almost everybody did because it was the thing.

    Cheers,
    Randy

Thanks for referencing that side of the story, Randy. 'Appreciate it. ;)

So what was his association with vBPlaza? Does he own/operate vBPlaza or...?

    Nick,

Yes he is the owner and project manager of vbBux / vbPlaza. To ensure that he is check the username on my above stated link in the other post as well as the admin on the vbplaza forum and you will see that they are the same.

    Cheers,
    Randy

I'm not too happy with him anyway. He coded vBBux/vPlaza, supported it for a while, adding new features, then just abandoned it. No support, no answering questions, no nothing.

Then all of a sudden he springs up with a paid vBux/vPlaza. That's fine that he wanted to be paid for it, he put in alot of hard work. But to just abandon the free one and all of those people, wasn't right, imo.

    It was free?

And he uses Ioncube on his products, which is bad if your host doesn't support ioncube :/

As far as I am aware this has nothing to do with vBulletin in actuality. It is just a coincidence. He has valid vBulletin licenses.

Myself, my wife, and my three children. Not one single application. Not one music track. Not one CD. Not one ringtone. Not one video game. Not one movie. I don't allow stolen property in my house.

You're statement was pretty absolute. Also going parent here... Just because others are doing it, doesn't make it right. I know most people couldn't care less about the livelihood of anyone but themselves and immediate family but the world would be a better place if they did.

I just hope you never have to rely on your intellectual ideas for a living.
