E Mail marketing

Just wondered if anyone has tried it to boost membership or simply as a traffic booster.

My son works for one of the major companies in the UK that provide it, they also hold databases for companies for mailing out magazines, which means they can cross reference to target people more likely to join a specific niche.

 

I'm just wondering whether it would work as a kickstart to getting members, the problem is most of the sites I've found wont give you an idea of prices without going into some depth.
