Has this not got anyone else thinking - what's going on at XenForo of late?

1: Kier Darby, according to his profile on XenForo has not logged-in there once in 4 weeks. Not since the 2nd Feb, 2012. Yet, we know he's around on the web still, if you check his profile at vBulletin he last visited that community "login" on the 5th March, 2012. Only 3 days ago!

2: Loads of Bug Reports mounting up at XenForo unanswered, why is that? Kier is around, so why is he refusing to login and answer some of them?

3: No longer since 4 weeks ago have XenForo been grabbing good testimonials from twitter about the forum software said onto the XF homepage. Something they made a point of doing daily. It just seems the last 4 weeks everything has come to a sudden standstill at XF.

What's going on, because I get the feeling something is wrong. I don't run a forum anymore myself, so frankly it matters not to me what happens there. But I just find it all rather bizarre, very odd indeed and wonder what other XenForo users think about it all?

Probably something personal that is more important than xenforo. I doubt it's any more than that.

I do get the impression something isn't right. Just a gut feeling, I have no proof, or even any idea what it might be.

Same as you, have the same gut feeling something isn't right.

Well, it does make you wonder?

My bet too. Perhaps its something with case vs. Internet Brands?

If there is a reconcilliation in the works would Xenforo vanish?

I don't think there is going to be any sort of reconciliation with vBulletin, really I don't.

There will be some logical explanation for it, but it is certainly strange. It must be something Kier just doesn't want out in the open. Or possibly he is just removing himself from public view to avoid distraction while developing. XenForo development has slowed right down and perhaps he wants to work on something big for a later version.

It's certainly odd though how he can find time to login at vBulletin. Yet, can't find time to do the same on his own forum in over 4 week, not answering some of the bug reports mounting up isn't doing XenForo any favours here. Although, that said. I think Kier has been logged-in daily at XenForo all along. I still say Brogan is (Kier Darby) in disguise, said it before and feel no different about that one.

But that aside, god knows what's going on? Have maybe sales taken a huge slump this second year now all the vBulletin fan-boys that jumped ship (already own XenForo) from first year sales, are they counting the cost of continuing on fighting things and it doesn't look good for them anymore? I think it's always been Internet Brands plan to grind XenForo into the ground at some point by dragging the court case on and on knowing they need those sales figures coming in to continue fighting it, or give in and cut their losses.

My gut feeling tells me we're going to see Internet Brands get the better of XenForo this year. I think the "low profile" thing with Kier, could possibly be because something is "coming off soon" and his absence is a part of it all being played out.

Fair comment, but do you not think it's strange he's not logged-in to at least answer one or two bug reports in nearly 5 weeks, that he hasn't even taken an hour out in that time to answer some. He was fast off the mark before doing it while still working on other stuff that seemed to come faster than anything of late now, and it's something he still has to take time-out fixing. All part of the XenForo product, and an important part to be seen answering problems getting reported. Otherwise it just looks like things are being ignored with bug fixing the "main forum product". Unfortunately, XenForo is not just about one thing, something new he might be working on. They have to cover everything, otherwise people will jump to the conclusion it's just not good enough, that they can't cope - or ignoring it on purpose.

Welcome to the other-side, the client-side who buys the product and expects certain things from a company they give money too.

it might be that his lawyers asked him to be quiet, because posting more information gives the opposition more to work with.

    (completely uninformed speculation)

Bob is correct with his assessment - life happens and sometimes that is all there is to it.

John, you're absolutely correct. Life has a funny way of redefining the priorities in our lives, from time to time. And my saying that to you is an excllent example of preaching to the choir, aye? ;)

When Brogan is posting on the XenForo company forums about newly-coded features for 1.2, I'm of the opinion everyone is just keeping their noses to the grindstone. And until someone proves otherwise, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Then again, the OP is convinced I am Azhria Lilu, so there you are.

Just so people know reading this and to set the record straight, I've since posted an apology to Kier and Mike on XenForo. I was wrong starting this thread and saying what I did, was out of order and it's none of my business.

    Read my apology here: http://xenforo.com/c...e-5#post-337182

This is the last I have to say on the matter in this thread, if I had my way I'd delete it.

Since you started it I can close it. All you have to do is just ask.

leave it open. it's important. do not delete.

a critical feature of the xenforo forum was that guy. his history, his plans, his future software. that one guy was the key factor.

so for him to not post for an extended time (especially while a major legal challege is active), is noticeable and a legitimate concern.

Very curious the whole situation, wasn't a while on xenforo. And I don't understand why it's treated in that way it is.
But anyway, hope he and his family are doing well.

It is certainly curious. Add to that the complete silence on the lawsuits since about the same time.

I do hope he's not ill or something. :(

Mike is still coding away so whatever it is, I don't think the project itself is in any danger. But whatever's going on, they are keeping it close to their chests.

Well it's the big day tomorrow that many have been eagerly awaiting to come, the start of the "Second Quarter" for XenForo 1.2 development release. I really hope we're going to hear something posted about it either on the 1st April, or there very soon after. So little has been said about it so far, apart from one news announcement made way back on: January 10th, 2012. That was ages ago, nothing much else has come since and threads asking questions have been getting locked. Some have even been bashing others for talking about it on other forums, out of order that aimed towards iBotPeaches!

Pretty obvious Kier and Mike have been working "very hard" behind the scene on it, I'm not expecting to see a release made until at least the middle of the second quarter myself. But some new feedback information in the meantime would be great and much appreciated, I think it's well over-due entering the second-quarter now. If being honest, I've been rather disappointed with the lack of information coming through about XenForo 1.2 development compared to the information supplied about earlier releases (which was good). I hope this changes from tomorrow and the shroud of secrecy is lifted from here on in.

If it does carry on from tomorrow "Second Quarter" onwards, the shroud of secrecy that is. Well, they can expect to be locking a hell of lot more threads this coming week and onwards for sure I very well suspect. I'm not having a rant, like most just hope to hear something new very soon!
