MegaUpload Shutdown

    MegaUpload was just shutdown by the Feds with cooperation from New Zealand authorities. The site is down and 7 people were arrested.

    I've only used the site a couple times to download bios roms so it really won't affect me. I am sure this will hurt many websites that use MegaUpload as storage for their files. A couple hardware sites I visit use MegaUpload to store most of the mods and member released software. This is going to break all the links and all the files will be lost.

    MegaUpload did have a dark side so it really doesn't surprise me that it was shutdown.

    Megavideo has also been shut down by the Feds. I've known some of my friends use it to watch videos, it's a shame.

    I feel that sites like mega upload is what sparked SOPA and PIPA, sure they had features for people to store things but they also made money off copyright infringement as well which is why stupid bills like SOPA and others are passed. My few cents...

    Surprised its taken this long to close down, most of the stuff on there seemed to be pirated stuff.

    Wow that is a shame I used it for icefilms it integrated it so you could get a movie lets say and it will play the movie for free and it was really good quality.
